[March 18] FROM GLORY TO GLORY

FROM GLORY TO GLORY
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 3:12-18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. - 2 Corinthians 3:18
The transforming power of God's word lies in the application or practise of its truth and principles. Without application, we only stop at being hearers only of the word. James 1:23-24, "For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was."
When we see ourselves as we are in the mirror of God's word and do not apply its principles, we immediately forget what we saw and the word is rendered ineffectual. However, 1 Corinthians 3:18 says as we continue looking into the mirror and applying the word in our lives, we are systematically transformed into the same image.
How does the Word of God transform us?
• Firstly, we see the glory of the Lord in the word. As we study the word, we see God as He is, embrace His ways and precepts and appreciate the beauty of His glory.
• Secondly, as we continue in the word, we begin to be transformed into the glorious image of the Lord. That is when His divine nature begins to influence our choices, decisions and actions.
• Thirdly, that process of transformation is not instant. It is from one level of glory to another. The more we apply God's word, the more His glory is manifested in our lives.
Prayer: Father, help me to be doer of Your word and not just a hearer. As I continually apply Your word, may I be transformed from glory to glory.
