[March 17] FAITHFULNESS

FAITHFULNESS
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 25:19-28
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth and a foot out of joint. - Proverbs 25:19
Faithfulness, the quality of being reliable, dependable or trustworthy, is the cornerstone of character and the foundation of every enduring relationship. God is faithful and requires us to be faithful to Him and to each other. Our most challenging moments or times of trouble are when we need our employees, partners or friends the most. That is when the unfaithful person ‘disappears.’ When you have a habit of letting people down when it matters the most, that is not being faithful. The Bible likens trusting an unfaithful person to carrying a toothache or a fracture. It totally immobilizes you.
If you expect faithfulness from others, you must first show yourself faithful. Are you dependable? Do you go out of your way to keep your commitments? Are you always on time for appointments? Do you avoid exaggeration? Do you fulfil your obligations no matter how difficult or expensive they might be to you? Is your word as good as gold? Do you finish tasks entrusted to you? Are you there to help, when a friend needs you, even if they do not ask? Do you pay your debts on time?
Do you communicate as soon as you know you cannot honour a timeline?Do you remember the little things you signed up to? Do you take notes to enable you remember details of your responsibilities? Is faithfulness more important to you than friendliness? Do you avoid making promises you cannot or do not intend to keep? Do you do every job the very best way and finish it to the satisfaction of those who commissioned you? Commit to building a reputation of faithfulness and you will find it a great asset in life.
Prayer: Lord, help me to have a faithful, dependable and reliable testimony.
