[March 2] EXCELLENCE AS A DIFFERENCE-MAKER

EXCELLENCE AS A DIFFERENCE-MAKER
Scripture Reading: Genesis 39:1-6
So it was, from that time that he made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field. - Genesis 39:5
Excellence is "the quality of being unusually good and exceeding ordinary standards." The spirit of excellence makes our work stand out from the crowd. When we inculcate the habit of excellence, our presence is felt wherever we go. That should be the testimony of every believer.
Our Christian faith is not just about professing to know God or being in a great church. It is also about bringing God's blessings and power to bear wherever we go. Because of us, the presence, glory and wisdom of God must be seen in our homes, schools, workplaces and in every project or assignment we are involved with. Things must prosper when we are involved.
This was the story of Joseph's life. God prospered whatever he touched. Wherever he went, he made a significant difference. His work ethic and outstanding contribution made him stand out in Potiphar's house, in prison and ultimately in Pharaoh's palace. Potiphar spotted the exceptional gift of stewardship in Joseph and promoted him to oversee his entire estate. So great was the trust that Genesis 39:6 says, "Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate......" May your excellence and stewardship open doors of opportunity and promotion to you.
Prayer: Lord, strengthen me to excel and be a difference-maker wherever I find myself.
