SEEING THROUGH A DARKENED GLASS
Scripture Reading: Mark 8:22-26
Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. - Mark 8:25
A mindset is the way a person sees the world. Your mindset influences the way you see things. It is the way you understand reality or respond to what happens around you. In 1 Corinthians 13:11-12, Paul says, "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as also am known."
We have to transition from an unclear view, through a distorted view to a matured understanding. This progression follows a natural law. When Christ laid hands on the blind man at Bethsaida, he went through the same progression.
No View: This first state is where he could see nothing. He had to be led by others and he was highly vulnerable.
Partial View: In this second state, he could see but the images were distorted. He was, therefore, partially dependent.
Full View: The third stage was where his healing was complete. He saw with clarity and was able to move all by himself.
May you move from darkness into light, negative into positive, deficit into surplus and from the desert to the palace. God is the source of light. As you move closer to God may you experience His light.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes to be able to see, unhindered, with a matured worldview or understanding.
