The Power Of Words 2
Matthew 8:5–10, 13
- Words carry the authority of the speaker
- What a person can do, his/her words can do
- Words are messengers sent on a mission
Isaiah 55:10–11 Jeremiah 15:16
- God’s word out of His mouth must be eaten by us
- God’s word in our hearts gives us peace and joy
- God’s word coming out of our mouth goes out in His name
Matthew 12:35–37
Our heart is a treasure house
Words from a good treasure: produces good things
- Justifies us: defends and delivers
Words from an evil treasure: produces evil things
- Condemns us: accuses and imprisons
Numbers 14:1–3; 26–29
The voice of complaint
- Ingratitude: dishonours God’s past works
- Unbelief: questions God’s power
- Inferiority: doubts their own ability
God hears: ‘I have heard the complaints against me’
God acts on what He hears: ‘As you have spoken…so I will do’
Numbers 14:6–9
God bless you
