[October 24] THE BELIEVING HEART

THE BELIEVING HEART

Scripture Reading: Romans 10:1-13
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10)

We receive all of God’s blessings by believing in His promises. To believe is to accept something as accurate and place your confidence in it. When we say we believe the promises of God, it means we take the promises of God as real.

Though the Bible was written thousands of years ago, the time has not diminished the power of the promise. If He says ‘I am the Lord your healer’, four thousand years ago, that word is as powerful today as it was then. Believing requires that we accept that promise as true to our situation.

How do we believe? We believe with our heart. The heart is the part of us that settles a matter. It is the part of us within our core that when it accepts something, does not deny it again. When something is settled in your heart, it gives you a deep sense of knowing that cannot be argued against. That is why we believe with our heart.

The believing heart walks in God’s possibility and walks in God’s power. All things are possible to him who believes. There is a possibility realm in our Christian walk where nothing is too hard for the Lord. That is the realm God wants us to walk in. He wants us to cross the bridge from, ‘nothing can be done’ to ‘God will do it’.

We must reach a point of conviction where we know without any shadow of a doubt that what we believe is so. There must be a settlement in our hearts concerning our place in God and God’s place in us.
If we are truly born again, we must settle it in our hearts that we are children of God.
  • We must settle in our hearts that God loves us.
  • We must settle in our hearts that God hears us when we pray.
  • We must settle in our hearts that the name of Jesus is above every name.
  • We must settle in our hearts that it is God’s will to prosper us
Prayer: Heavenly Father, with my heart, I accept your promises as real. I believe in my heart and boldly declare that all things are possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
