[March 9] THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THE WISE

THE PHYSIOLOGY OF THE WISE
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 24:30-34
I went by the field of the lazy man, And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; - Proverbs 24:30
Wisdom is visible. The writer of Proverbs described the field of the lazy and unwise man. He began with casual observation. He then moved to keen observation. He finally engaged in deeper analysis of his findings and drew some important lessons. The same lessons apply to wisdom. You can tell a wise person by observing their physiology or the figurative function of key parts of their bodies.
• The HEART of the Wise is virtuos, upright and honourable. It pours out deep things. It is not shallow. Ecclesiastes 10:2 says, "A wise man's heart is at his right hand, but a fool's heart is at his left."
• The EAR of the Wise seeks for knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 1:5 says it appreciates wise counsel. The wise person is also able to handle correction or rebuke. He or she diligently weighs what they hear before making judgement (Proverbs 18:13).
• The LIPs of the Wise make intelligent contributions. Proverbs 15:7 says, "The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the fool does not do so." The wise carefully manages information. He uses knowledge rightly. He does not speak rashly but pauses in conversation to allow others to also speak.
• The EYE of the Wise is not greedy for wealth. It stays focused and alert. Proverbs 4:25-26 says, "Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let your ways be established."
• The FACE of the Wise inspires trust and confidence. Ecclesiastes 8:1 says, "Who is like a wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face shine, And the sternness of his face is changed." Don't let people ask you what is wrong whenever they meet you. Your face must glow and reflect God's glory and not your problems.
Prayer: Lord, help me to manifest wisdom in all my decisions and choices.
